America will cut the $ 28 million budget for the United Nations
The administration of the US
President Donald Trump said that the budget for the year 2018-2019 will be cut
to 28 million US dollars for the country.
The US mission in the United
Nations said in a statement yesterday (Sunday), that with significant budgetary
savings, America will be able to implement its priorities effectively around
the world.
The General Assembly allocated a
budget of $ 540 million to implement UN activities in the year 2016-2017. This
money differs from the allocation budget for UN peacekeeping missions. For the
peace mission in 2017, the UN allocated $ 780 million.
The amount of money that the
United Nations allocates every year is 22 percent, which is equivalent to US $
330 million. Donald Trump's administration plans to reduce that money. On the
issue of Baitul Mukaddas, the Trump administration announced the announcement
on Thursday three days after the UN General Assembly passed the anti-US
resolution.
US ambassador to the United
Nations Nikki Halley said Washington has rightly taken steps to reduce the
budget in the United States. He also said, trying to increase the UN's
eligibility by protecting the US interests. Nicki Halley said that everyone is
aware of the UN disqualification and excess expenditure but we will not let it
continue without any scrutiny. To make the United Nations more qualified and
responsible, the US budget cut-off is a big step in nanomical activities.
