suppressing terrorism and militancy.

AKM Shahidul Haque said that police have succeeded in suppressing terrorism and
militancy. He said this while addressing the 35th Annual General Meeting of the
Bangladesh Retired Police Officers' Welfare Association (BRPOAA) at the Siraj
Mia auditorium in Rajarbagh Police Line on Saturday.
The IGP said the police is
working relentlessly for the welfare of the country and the nation. Recently,
Bangladesh Police has been able to show considerable success in combating
militancy and terrorism.
IGP said, we want to build a
modern and popular police force in the presence of police and senior officials.
This requires retired police officers to cooperate.
He said retired senior officials
are our resources. Their advice and spontaneous co-operation are in our way. It
is truly commendable that police officers are retiring from public and social
services while retiring.
Vice President and former
Additional Secretary Md. Sahiuddul Islam Chowdhury attended the program. Sarwar
Hossain, Secretary General Mia Lutfar Rahman Chowdhury spoke in the speech. Members
of the association including the members of the meeting were present.
At this function, SM Ahsan
Memorial Award, Professor Anamika Haque Lily and Dr. M Enamul Haque Award, 'MN
Bhakta-Shipra Bhakta Fund' and 'Khitish Chandra Mullick-Maya Mallick Fund' were
awarded scholarship.
Four members of the association:
Honorary honor is given to a senior member. The IGP gave the prizes and crest
in their hands.
Earlier, the IGP officially
inaugurated the newly constructed building 'BRPOWA Complex' at Rajarbagh
Association.
