Police have blocked the BNP's sit-in program demanding the release of Khaleda Zia. A group of policemen detained Mizanur Rahman Raj, president of Dhaka Metropolitan North Chhatra Dal, in front of the National Press Club during the program.

 The BNP Chairperson said that BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir could not avoid the arrest. In addition to the capital, BNP activists barricaded the activities of police stations in different districts.
