Errors and irregularities in banks from the birth of the country: Finance Minister
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit said that the country's birthplace has begun to have errors, irregularities. The banking system of the country is not yet completely faulty. But there is no shortage of government's efforts to make it a problem. These take a while to take effect.
In reply to a decision by the Parliament on Thursday, the Finance Minister said this. Today, the government's parliamentary party, Israfil Alam, brought the proposal on a private day. But later he withdrew the offer.
In the proposal, Israfil said, "Let the transparency and accountability be ensured for the banks and financial institutions to handle irregularities and faultlessness."
In response, the Finance Minister highlighted various activities taken by the government to ensure good governance in the bank sector, saying it is an ongoing process. The Finance Minister said irregularities and errors in the banks of the country started from the beginning of the year, and once a fatality took place. Once the loan default is 40 percent. Now it has come down to 11-12 percent.
During the proposal, Israfil said that due to some chaos in the bank sector, the economic success of the government has become very faded. If the bank does not have good governance in the bank, the crisis of governance becomes visible. In the year 2017 the bank sector was in shambles 20 of the 57 banks had visibly poor financial position. Other banks also lacked good governance.
Israfil said that the defaulting loan increased alarmingly. The loan has been taken in the name of anonymously. The bank's directors, executive and senior officials were involved in these activities. There is no need to investigate for this. People have seen the open eyes, know. But exemplary measures were not taken by the ministry, government, central bank. The bank has weakened the regulation and supervision of the bank on the sector rather than the growth. Some steps have been taken that can be patchwork. Which was not worth the need.
Israfil, elected from Naogaon, said, "We can not speak at the government's endeavor, there is no law, no manpower." But those who are responsible for the enforcement of these laws are in charge of prevention, the failure of the government to take responsibility for the failure of the financial sector has to face the danger of failure. Awami League also has to bear. "He demanded the disclosure of the name of the loan defaulters, and the names of the officials involved in giving loan credit.
Israfil said, the amount of defaulted loans in state banks increased alarmingly. The government has to provide thousands of crores of rupees to the government even after looting. That money is the people's tax money, the common man's sweat money. New banks were not able to gain the confidence of the depositors. Still, licensing of new banks is being granted.
Israfil further said, "Now there is a great deal of suspicion about common man in the bank." Banking sector fails to foil so much success and glory in the government There is no logic to maintain those banks which have been embezzled by the banks.
