Myanmar does not want to keep the UN in the process of repatriation of Rohingya, said Foreign Secretary Md. Shahidul Haque
He told this on Wednesday.
The secretary said that Rohingyas do not want to keep the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as per Bangladesh's proposal in the process of repatriation. They want to involve Red Crescent.
In spite of international pressure, Myanmar agreed to take back the Rohingya who took shelter in Bangladesh, but they are trying to prolong the rehabilitation process.
It is to be noted that on November 23 last year, the agreement was signed to restore Rohingya among Myanmar and Myanmar nationals in Myanmar.
